Autocomplete Search handles the patterns developers use most:
Search Refinement & Targeting Narrow results using focus points (bias results toward a location), bounding boxes (constrain to a region), country codes (country-level filtering), or specific data sources and layers. Combine filters for precise, contextual search results.
Multi-Language Results Support international users with place labels and results in their language. Use BCP47 language tags to localize results on a per-request basis.
Performance-First Design Autocomplete is built for interactive, real-time search. The API is optimized to return results based on partial input—our documentation recommends waiting for two or three characters of user input before sending requests, and implementing throttling or debouncing (or both) for smooth performance in production applications.
Quality & Accuracy
Autocomplete results include built-in quality indicators so you can make confident decisions about which results to use:
Match Type Classification Each result is tagged as "exact" (query found directly), "interpolated" (house numbers estimated along known streets), or "fallback" (partial information, like a city when a specific address doesn't exist). Use match types to filter out unreliable data for address verification or other strict use cases.
Confidence Scoring Confidence scores (0–1) reflect multiple factors including match type accuracy, postal code verification, and alignment of street/house numbers with parsed input. Lower scores on fallback results help you set acceptability thresholds for your application.
Automatic Relevance Ranking Results are automatically ranked from best to worst using all available relevance information—no manual sorting required. Source and layer information is included with each result, so you can filter based on regional data quality or the specific information type you need.

Autocomplete Search is available across all Stadia Maps plan tiers (Free, Starter, Standard, Professional, and Enterprise). Unlike some competitors, long-term result storage is included with Standard, Professional, and Enterprise plans, giving you flexibility in how you use geocoding results without unexpected overage fees.
Stadia Maps uses a credit-based billing system. Start free and upgrade anytime as your usage grows. Mid-cycle plan changes are prorated.
- Free: 200,000 credits/month (non-commercial use)
- Starter: $20/month, 1,000,000 credits/month, overage at 3¢/1,000
- Standard: $80/month, 7,500,000 credits/month, overage at 2¢/1,000
