About Stadia Maps

Building location features into a product shouldn't force a tradeoff between quality, cost, and your users' privacy. Stadia Maps provides map tiles, geocoding, routing, and navigation APIs on infrastructure built for global performance, transparent pricing, and real human support, all without tracking your users and with no lock-in.

Stadia Maps is also a founding member of MapLibre, the open-source map rendering collective.

The Problem Stadia Maps Solves

In 2016, Ian and Luke were building a mapping solution for a client with high standards: beautiful map design, fast loading times, and easy setup, all within a budget that made sense for a small, growing business.

Existing providers couldn't deliver. They were either too expensive or too limited in performance and customization. So Ian and Luke built what their client actually needed on top of open-source projects like OpenStreetMap and MapLibre, and that became Stadia Maps.

Petr Penicka

As our Senior Software Engineer, Petr works in Vue.js, Nuxt.js, Django and other technologies. His ever-expanding responsibilities include the marketing website, the client dashboard, and parts of our infrastructure.

Outside of Stadia Maps, he also serves as CTO and co-owner of Nomad Summit, a conference series for digital nomads and location independent professionals.
